What do you think Brian Jones would have done with his life by now had he lived?
I wonder if he would have achieved a 'super group'? I think he would always have had personality clashes. He would have been better doing solo stuff and exploring World music like Peter Gabriel with strange instruments.
I really loved Brian.

I think he would have had a successful solo career like Eric Clapton, and he would have been in demand as a guest artist on other people's albums and concerts. He would have shone at Live Aid.

Leaving the Stones seemed to have lifted a burden from his shoulders ... maybe he would have went on to explore the world outside the framework of R&B and Rock and Roll!

Brian Jones for me reminds me of Brian Wilson for the Beach Boys and George Harrison of the Beatles.
These musicians are special in there own way with special talents. They played many different instruments and contributed unique sounds to there band.
So if Brian Jones would have lived he would most certainly be doing blues, rythm & blues, jazz touch, and experimental music with rare musicians worldwide.
I even could see him doing African blues, Cuban blues, Maroccon music, Indian music, and also play with famous musicians such of course George harrison when he was alive, Eric Clapton, Ry Cooder, and let's not forget slide guitar playing for session musicians.

Thing is, Wilson is a gentle own soul, who's life has been tortured my mental illness and the cruelty of others. George was ok, if a little deluded. Jones was, by all accounts, a total bastard.

Brian Jones was such a talent and taken far too soon. His contribution to the stones can't be underestimated.The change in sound and use of more exotic instruments was through Brian wanting to experiment. The band would never be able to find a worthy enough replacement for Brian. He certainly would of had a future in music, it meant so much to him and he had a genuine love for blues music. He very probably would of collaberated with other artists, maybe John Lennon would of invited Brian to play on his music as he and Brian had been such good friends.
